Tool & Material Requirements
PEX pipe
PEX cutter
PEX crimp rings
PEX crimp tool
Go/no go gauge
Step 1

Clean cut the PEX pipe with PEX cutter at right angle according to your PEX system.
Step 2

Slide the PEX crimp ring over the pipe about 1/4″-1/8″ from the edge.
Step 3

Insert the PEX fitting into the PEX completely.
Step 4

Open the PEX crimp tool’s jaws up all the way slides up and over the ring and make sure that the crimper handle placed at a 90° angle. Now compress the crimper tool. When you’re done, you will hear a pop sound from PEX crimp tool.
Step 5

Now we will use go/no-go gauge to make sure that the ring was compressed correctly. At first start with the go portion and slide that over the ring. If the go side goes over, the ring is compressed correctly. It is good to ensure that the ring was not over compressed.
The other side, no-go portion, make sure that it does not go. If it does not go over the ring, the ring was not over compressed.
We used SharkBite PEX Pipe Crimp Ring & crimp tool and Iwiss PEX cutter in this tutorial.
